GKN Stromag Inc. solves engineering problems in rotational industrial systems and mechanical drive technology. Innovative solutions in the drive chain are developed in cooperation with the design departments of our customers, qualified in-house, tested to meet all applicable regulatory requirements, and converted into cost efficient product solutions. 

The original SIME Brake company was founded in LaGuerche, France in 1927 and is a world market leader for industrial disc style brakes. Clutches/brakes, discs, flexible couplings and limit switches are designed and produced under the Stromag Group name with factories in Dayton, OH and in Unna and Dessau, Germany.

Each product category has dedicated R&D and engineering groups to create custom solutions to customer problems in coupling and drive technology.  The Stromag Group strategic focus is to continue to expand on our reputation of successful applications and develop the latest cost efficient systems for our customers using our world-wide factories and resources.
